…I wanted to make my book-launch bonfire special, so I tore through my notes & archives of writing that didn’t make it to print in the book.
In the end I found 30 pieces that, for reasons as unique as the poems themselves, never made it to print.
Then I tapped them out on my 1960’s Olympia typewriter, sealed them in black envelopes and labeled them “mystery poems”.
Everyone at the party loved them and I realized that, clearly, these arrows could still fly.
Luckily, I’m sentimental so I had already taken a picture of each typewritten poem.
Now they exist together as “Broken Arrows”
…a numbered collection of poem-fragments that weren’t meant for clean print.
I’m printing, folding and stapling these myself, then hand-numbering each one, for a total of 200.
