"A fluid, introspective collection fueled by natural imagery, self-reflection, nostalgia, and experimental structures."
- Independent Book Review
Cupid of the Mess is my first collection.
Containing over 100 poems in loose chronological order, these poems move through passion, heartbreak, my Mexican heritage, grief, spirituality & faith (including poems from my 8-day darkness meditation), and the emergence of my identity as a writer.
Sharp yet ethereal. Electric yet grounded. Fiercely attentive to beauty.
This poetry charts how my reckonings with chaos become a practice in compassion for the paradox of being human.
This first-edition print run is limited to 500 copies.
All orders include a paper bookmark inspired by the cover art AND a copy of ‘BROKEN ARROWS’ a 32 page home-made “chapbook” including unfinished poem-fragments that refused to flatten. Learn more below.

…I wanted to make my book-launch bonfire special, so I tore through my notes & archives of writing that didn’t make it to print in the book.
In the end I found 30 pieces that, for reasons as unique as the poems themselves, never made it to print.
Then I tapped them out on my 1960’s Olympia typewriter, sealed them in black envelopes and labeled them “mystery poems”.
Everyone at the party loved them and I realized that, clearly, these arrows could still fly.
Luckily, I’m sentimental so I had already taken a picture of each typewritten poem.
Now they exist together as “Broken Arrows”
…a numbered collection of poem-fragments that weren’t meant for clean print.
I’m printing, folding and stapling these myself, then hand-numbering each one, for a total of 200.
Yes, I’ll send you a copy for FREE with every purchase of Cupid of the Mess.
